Upstream Energy

We write a well-established worldwide book of business for the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.

  • Overview

We write a worldwide book of business for the oil and gas industry's upstream sector primarily falling into the following areas:

    • Exploration and production.
    • Drilling contractors.
    • Specialist Vessels
    • Construction
    • Products Offered
  • Territories

We write business on a worldwide basis including North Sea, West Africa, South America, Middle East, Far East, Australia and Canada. A large proportion of risks are in respect of business in North America including shale plays (excluding liability) and a relatively small named windstorm book concentrating on a good distribution across the Gulf of Mexico.

  • Risk appetite

Although we seek to write a good spread of business we do offer a meaningful maximum line size of USD 45 million any one risk (all classes except Gulf of Mexico).

  • Distribution

We write business through Lloyd’s registered brokers.

  • Our expertise

Our experienced and well-respected energy team, backed by superior modelling capabilities and a specialist claims team, has excellent and longstanding market relationships. Our technical knowledge, gained through practical industry experience, gives us unique understanding of upstream energy risks and our swift decision-making is welcomed by brokers throughout the market.
