ArgoGlobal (Syndicate 1200) is part of the prestigious 325 year old Lloyd’s market, a hub of international specialist (re)insurance.  We write commercial property, general and professional liability, marine, energy, aviation, personal accident and political risks business from around the world.  We work in an exciting industry where our risk appetite ranges from drones to Formula One drivers and from skyscrapers to oil rigs.

The Company believes in giving back to the local community and there are plenty of opportunities to participate in our programmes which include anything from reading and number partners at a local primary school to community actions days.

What do the Graduate Underwriter and Graduate Claims Programmes involve?

Successful candidates will work for approximately two years with the underwriting teams or Claims team (depending on which programme you apply for) at Syndicate 1200 at Lloyd’s of London.

Your journey

As an Argo graduate, you’ll rotate through placements in a variety of underwriting divisions or placements within the Claims department where you will experience many facets of the business with real responsibility from day one, learning how the market transacts insurance and reinsurance business, fundamental disciplines of underwriting and claims handling including Catastrophe Modeling, Actuarial and Marketing/Distribution. You’ll gain invaluable practical experience in the insurance industry through many different channels including sitting at the box in Lloyd’s.

During the rotations you will have the opportunity to work on a real business impact project with graduates on our US graduate programme which will result in a presentation to senior Executives.

Learning and development

Your development experience will include study for the ACII professional qualification, as well as in-house courses and rapid on-the-job learning.  You’ll be allocated a senior mentor to guide and help you through your development at Argo.
